Notre Pere to take on Kauto Star in the Betfair Chase
Kauto Star will make his seasonal debut in the Grade 1 Betfair Chase at Haydock this Saturday in what looks set to be dismal conditions with rain and strong winds expected to lash the track.
Punters are looking at trainer Jim Dreaper’s mud-loving Notre Pere as the horse to take the challenge to Kauto Star, who won the race in 2006 and 2007 but unseated jockey Sam Thomas at the final fence last year to miss out on the hat-trick of wins. Notre Pere is the only Irish horse in the field this year and was the winner of last season’s Welsh Grand National and Punchestown Gold Cup.

Imperial Commander and Kauto Star
With the entries in for the upcoming King George VI Chase sponsors William Hill have set defending champion Kauto Star as even money favourite.
The reigning Gold Cup winner will be attempting to make history by winning his fourth consecutive King George Chase and equal Desert Orchid’s record of four total wins.

Kauto Star
This years William Hill King George VI Chase has received 32 entries which could see Kauto Star, who is looking for his record equaling fourth win, facing a big field.
Kauto Star is looking to equal revered Desert Orchid’s record of four wins and set a new record of four consecutive wins in the Grade 1 King George Chase. Standing in his way could be 2008 runner-up Albertas Run, Monet’s Garden, Our Vic, Madison Du Berlais, Imperial Commander and Voy Por Ustedes. Cheltenham Gold Cup winner War Of Attrition and RSA Chase winner Cooldine are among six entries from Ireland.
