Our Vic's odds for the King George Chase have been slashed after success at Warwick
Our Vic’s odds for the King George VI Chase at Kempton Park on December 26 have been slashed from 50/1 to 33/1 at William Hill after winning the £40,000 totesport.com Chase at Warwick last Sunday, his 12th career win and first in 18 months.
The race looked like it was going to unravel for the 11 year old Our Vic after forcing the pace early with Miss Mitch. He gave away several lengths after an awkward jump four fences from home and a slow jump at the next fence.

The anticipation of Kauto Star’s attempt to win the 2009 King George Chase and make history has seen ticket sales for the Winter Festival at Kempton Park soar.
Kauto Star has won the last three runnings of the grade 1 King George VI Chase, and a fourth successive win would see the nine year old beat the record held by the legendary and much loved Desert Orchid.

RSA Chase winner Cooldine could be heading for the King George VI Chase
RSA Chase winner Cooldine could be heading to Kempton Park for the King George VI Chase on Boxing Day and his first clash with Kauto Star.
Willie Mullins, Cooldine’s trainer, confirmed that the grade 1 event at Kempton is a possibility for his talented seven year old chaser.

William Hill Winter Festival Schedule
The schedule for the William Hill Winter Festival has been changed after the King George VI Chase was moved to a later start time. The grade 1 feature also changed from being race 4 to race 5, the second last race of the day. This has also meant that the Sports Betting Handicap Hurdle Race, which was originally race 5, has now moved to become race 2 and all other races on December 26 have shuffled back a position.

Well Chief wins Connaught Chase
Veteran chaser Well Chief won the Connaught Chase at Cheltenham today, defeating Master Minded who tired and suffered his first defeat in 19 months to eventually finish third behind Mahogany Blaze. The win for Well Chief has seen his odds for the King George Chase shorten to 16/1 at William Hill.
Well Chief’s trainer David Pipe and owner David Johnson were both impressed with the 10 year old who recorded his 11th win in 21 starts and overcome recurring leg injuries .

Imperial Commander and Kauto Star
With the entries in for the upcoming King George VI Chase sponsors William Hill have set defending champion Kauto Star as even money favourite.
The reigning Gold Cup winner will be attempting to make history by winning his fourth consecutive King George Chase and equal Desert Orchid’s record of four total wins.
UK bookmaker William Hill is the new sponsor of the King George VI Chase in a four year deal that includes the Winter Festival at Kempton Park.
The two day Christmas event will now be known as the William Hill Winter Festival. William Hill also have naming rights to all of the races across the two days including the King George Chase, Christmas Hurdle, Desert Orchid Chase and Feltham Chase, all premier events on the National Hunt calendar.
