One petrified trauma you can encounter is being attacked by a dog. It is difficult to know how to respond in the middle of this ordeal and there’s a chance you may panic and hurt yourself even more. One should know these crucial points to protect themselves if they ever have an encounter with the bared gnashers of an irritated dog.

Dogs are man’s best find and they make suitable house pets. A canine that has been poorly trained or one which has been neglected and mistreated will see other humans as a menace. If you run or jog near a dog like this, it may react violently and will calm down once you’ve passed.

You shouldn’t overreact if you’ve been attacked by an angry canine. The last thing you’ll want to do if a canine runs at you is to intimidate it even more. If you flail your arms, run away, or even scream, it will tell the dog that you are afraid and this can invigorate it to carry on with the attack.

Show the right zeel. Dogs fraternize with each other by the energy they radiate, and they observe these same cues from humans. You should come across as tranquil but assertive when dealing with a canine that is attacking you. You should stand side-on to the canine as this tells that you’re not looking to indulge in a fight and would also make you a limited target. To show the dog that you’re not afraid you should stand up straight and avoid eye contact with the dog as this would irritate it even more.

Divert the canine. The dog may get too close to you and perhaps because it totally surprises you and here, do your best to prevent it from biting you directly. In case you have long sleeves, you should pull our hands in and try seeing to it that the canine bites down on the sleeve. You should ax the piece of clothing while the dog is masticating and get to protection.

In the worst-case scenario where the dog succeeds to get a grip of you, you should try to protect your head, torso, and neck as much as possible. The dog may get disengaged if you can cover its eyes. If there no other alternative than to retaliate, do so with thought.

Call the police immediately if you manage to break free and seek protection. If you’ve been hurt in a dog attack, you should file for a dog bite lawsuit so that you get the claim you deserve. If you file for a dog bite lawsuit, you’ll be ensuring the protection of others as they won’t be attacked by this dog in the days to come.
